Turn AI-Assisted Farsi Into Natural Persian Writing

SupWriter rewrites AI-assisted Persian (Farsi) text into smoother, more natural prose; the sample below is one unedited run. If you study in Iran, note where the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology's 2025 AI guide draws the line: polishing a paragraph you wrote yourself is listed as permitted, but lightly editing text that is mostly AI-generated and submitting it is listed as cheating.

AI-written essay paragraph in Persian (technology in higher education); rewritten in aggressive mode (Beast Mode in the editor)

Before

After

English gloss: In the present era, technology holds a very important place in the sphere of higher education. Using digital tools gives students the opportunity to access a wide range of academic sources and to move the learning process forward more effectively. Apart from these, online classes and learning management systems provide a new opportunity for flexible learning. Even so, attention should also be paid to challenges such as unequal access to the internet and reduced face-to-face interaction. Overall, using technology in education, especially at higher levels, can be very effective, but the condition is that it is put to good use.

What Iran's science ministry says about rewriting with AI

Two sets of rules matter here: a 2017 anti-fraud law and a 2025 ministry guide.

The 2017 law. The Law on Prevention of and Combating Fraud in the Preparation of Scientific Works, approved by the Majlis on 31 Mordad 1396 (22 August 2017), makes IranDoc's Hamanandjoo similarity check mandatory for proposals, theses and dissertations at universities, research institutes and seminaries [1]. It targets people who prepare theses, dissertations or articles for profit, as a business, for someone else to present as their own. A student who uses such work can have the degree voided, and translation and editing fall outside the offence [2].

The 2025 guide. The Ministry of Science, Research and Technology's guide to AI tools in research, dated Aban 1404 (October–November 2025), requires any AI use to be reported openly, including the tool's exact role and how you validated its output, in the acknowledgements or an AI-use statement [3]. Hidden AI use in coursework without the instructor's approval isn't permitted, and rewording someone else's work without citation is a violation even if the words and structure change [3]. Its examples treat rewriting a paragraph you wrote yourself, to improve and smooth it, as permitted, and lightly editing mostly AI-generated text before submitting it as cheating [3].

Universities add their own rules. Tehran University of Medical Sciences, for example, requires AI use in thesis writing to be reported explicitly and treats generating all or part of a thesis with AI as clear misconduct [4].

Why the Persian sample has no AI score

Our own detector can't judge Persian, so the sample above has no score. It rated the fully AI-written draft at only 55.6% AI, while our AI-written English control draft scored 100% [1]. The default-mode rewrite of the Persian draft then scored higher than the draft itself, at 67% [1], and in a separate run the same day, the aggressive-mode rewrite shown above scored 55.3%. We haven't yet tested human-written Persian, so we can't say how often the detector flags real writing.

Other tools don't fill the gap. Turnitin's AI detector is limited to long-form text in English, Spanish, Japanese or Modern Arabic, and it won't process a Persian paper [2]. Its Translated Matching does list Persian and Dari, but that is a similarity feature: it translates the paper into English and matches it against sources [3]. Originality.ai includes Persian in its 31-language list [4], while GPTZero leaves it out of the five languages it fully supports [5]. IranDoc describes Hamanandjoo as a similarity checker and makes no claim that it detects AI writing [6]; in July 2026, IranDoc's head said a Persian-aware method for detecting AI-generated work was hoped for in the near future [7].

Iran's science ministry accepts that such tools err: its guide says a detector's output alone can't be the definitive basis for proving a violation, and misconduct committees must weigh all the evidence and give you a chance to explain [8]. Your outlines, drafts and an honest AI-use statement count for more than any score.

Persian Linguistics

What Makes Persian Different

Script: Perso-Arabic RTL abjadFamily: Indo-European (Iranian)

Where AI-written Persian slips

  • •The ezafe construction linking nouns and adjectives omitted
  • •Formal written verb forms where speech contracts them (miravam to miram)
  • •No gender, but the 'ra' object marker misused
  • •Compound (light-verb) verbs formed unnaturally

What native Persian writers do

  • Spoken Tehrani contractions and colloquial verb stems
  • Taarof politeness formulas in social and informal writing
  • Particles 'dige', 'khob', 'baba'

Writing notes

  • Select "Western Persian" in the editor for Farsi text; for Dari, the editor has a separate "Eastern Persian" option. We haven't run any Dari text through either setting yet.
  • Check half-spaces after every rewrite. The Academy of Persian Language and Literature's orthography guide (2023 edition) uses the half-space (نیم‌فاصله), typed as a zero-width non-joiner, inside forms such as می‌آیم and بی‌دلیل. Tools can drop it: in the run above, چالش‌هایی came back as چالش هایی.
  • Keep Persian punctuation (، ؛ ؟) and Persian digits in running text, and recheck brackets and full stops wherever a Latin-script name or reference sits inside a right-to-left sentence, since copy-paste can move them.
  • Theses and journal articles stay in the formal written register throughout. If a rewrite slips in spoken forms, such as ـه in place of است, put the written form back.
  • Compare the rewrite with your draft sentence by sentence. In the run above, the second sentence came back word for word; because the ministry's guide counts uncited rewording of someone else's text as a violation, cite your sources whether or not the wording has changed.

FAQ

Persian questions

Not with their AI detectors. Turnitin's AI-writing detection doesn't process Persian, and GPTZero names only English, German, Portuguese, French and Spanish as fully supported. Turnitin's Translated Matching does cover Persian and Dari, but it translates your paper into English to look for matching sources; it doesn't measure AI writing.
Hamanandjoo (همانندجو) is IranDoc's similarity checker: it searches theses, dissertations and other documents in IranDoc's databases and on the web, then shows how similar your text is and where the matches come from. Note 9 of the 2017 anti-fraud law made it mandatory for proposals, theses and dissertations. In a July 2026 interview, IranDoc's head described a Persian-aware way of detecting AI-generated work as something hoped for in the near future, not a launched feature.
The ministry's 2025 guide lists rewriting a paragraph you wrote yourself, to improve and smooth its sentences, as permitted, and lightly editing mostly AI-generated text before submitting it as cheating. It also expects AI use to be reported, with the tool's role and how you checked the output, and it rules out hidden AI use in coursework without your instructor's approval. Your university or instructor may set stricter rules, so check them first.
Not on its own, according to the ministry's guide: detection tools can make errors, so their output alone can't be the definitive basis for proving a violation, and misconduct committees must review all the evidence and let you explain. Our own detector gave a fully AI-written Persian draft only 55.6%, which shows how weak these scores can be. Keep your outlines, drafts and version history.
Yes: choose the editor's Eastern Persian option for Dari, the name used in Afghanistan for Persian, rather than Western Persian. We haven't tested Dari text with either setting yet, and our Persian test draft was written in Iranian Persian, so read the result for vocabulary and spellings that don't match your usage.
