# Undetectable AI Review 2026: Features, Pricing, Verdict

If you have searched for an AI humanizer at any point in the last three years, you have seen Undetectable AI. Their ads are everywhere. Their brand name is the category name. For a lot of people, "undetectable AI" and "the tool at undetectable.ai" have quietly become the same thing.

That kind of brand gravity earns a tool a fair hearing, not a free pass. So here is our honest look at what you get for your money in 2026 — the humanizer, the detector, the pile of new tools they have bolted on, and the bypass numbers from our own testing.

Full disclosure: we build [SupWriter](/ai-humanizer), which competes directly with Undetectable AI. We are not going to pretend that away. What we will do is publish numbers you can reproduce and give credit where the tool earns it — which is more often than you might expect from a competitor's review.

## Quick Verdict

**Overall: 3.5 / 5**

| Category | Rating | Note |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Detection bypass | 3.5 / 5 | Around 85% average. Good, not great, and inconsistent on long documents. |
| Output quality | 3.5 / 5 | Readable and natural in English. Academic register is the weak spot. |
| Feature breadth | 4.5 / 5 | The widest tool suite in the category by a wide margin. |
| Pricing value | 3 / 5 | Monthly rates are steep; annual pricing is genuinely competitive. |

**Bottom line:** Undetectable AI is a well-built, well-funded product that does what it says most of the time. It is the safest "default" pick in the category, and it is not the highest-performing one. If bypass rate is the only number you care about, you can do better. If you want one account that also writes, detects, translates, and types for you, this is the most complete option on the market.

## What Is Undetectable AI?

Undetectable AI launched in 2023, right as the first wave of AI detectors hit universities and content teams. It was one of the earliest purpose-built humanizers, and that early-mover advantage built a user base that most competitors still have not caught.

The original product was simple: paste AI text, pick a readability level and a purpose, get rewritten text back that reads less like a language model. That core humanizer is still the heart of the product, but the surrounding suite has grown a lot. As of mid-2026 the platform includes:

- **AI Humanizer** — the flagship rewriting engine
- **AI Detector** — checks text and highlights which sentences flag
- **AI SEO Writer** — generates keyword-targeted articles with humanization baked in
- **AI Essay Writer** — long-form academic drafting
- **Human Typer** — replays your text into a document with human-like keystroke timing
- **Writing Style Replicator** — matches a sample of your own writing
- **AI Image Detector, Audio Detector, and Fake PDF Detector**
- **AI Translator, AI Chatbot, Word Counter, Job Applier, and a Chrome extension**

That is a lot of surface area, and some of it is feature-checklist padding — the word counter is a word counter. But the Human Typer deserves a mention, because it addresses something most competitors ignore: Google Docs and many LMS platforms keep revision histories, and a document that appears in one enormous paste event looks suspicious regardless of what a detector says. Replaying text as timed keystrokes is a clever answer to a real problem.

## How the Humanizer Works

The interface gives you three dials: readability level (High School through Doctorate), purpose (essay, article, marketing, general), and a strength setting. Results come back in roughly 15 to 30 seconds for a typical essay.

Its best design choice is the integrated detection loop. You can scan before humanizing, humanize, then rescan without leaving the page — and the detector highlights specific flagged sentences instead of handing you one number. Our own [AI detector](/ai-detector) works the same way for the same reason: sentence-level feedback is far more actionable than a document-level score.

Here is a representative before and after from our testing:

> **Before (GPT-4o output):** Furthermore, it is important to note that the implementation of renewable energy infrastructure has demonstrated significant potential in reducing carbon emissions across multiple sectors.

> **After (Undetectable AI, Doctorate level, essay purpose):** It is worth noting that renewable energy infrastructure, once implemented, has shown real potential for cutting carbon emissions in a number of different sectors.

That is a reasonable rewrite. The hedging feels more human, the rhythm improves. It also illustrates the tool's habit: it edits at the sentence level rather than restructuring paragraphs, so the underlying shape of the AI text survives. That works fine on short passages and becomes a liability across a 3,000-word document, where uniform paragraph architecture is itself a detection signal.

## Detection Bypass: Our Test Results

This is the number people come for. We have run Undetectable AI through several rounds of testing, and the results have been consistent enough that we are comfortable publishing them.

In our academic paper study — real papers across STEM, humanities, social sciences, and business, submitted to three detectors — the results looked like this:

| Detector | Undetectable AI Bypass | SupWriter Bypass |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Turnitin | 88% | 92% |
| GPTZero | 86% | 94% |
| Originality.ai | 82% | 88% |
| **Average** | **85.3%** | **91.3%** |

Across our broader five-detector testing on general content, Undetectable AI averages around 85% as well, which is a reassuring sign that the academic figure is not a fluke.

One note on the right-hand column, since it looks lower than the number we usually quote: 91.3% is SupWriter's average on this narrower three-detector set of graded academic papers, which is the hardest material either tool sees. The 99%-plus figure we cite elsewhere comes from the broader five-detector run on general content.

Let us be clear about what 85% means, because it is genuinely good. Raw GPT output gets flagged well over 90% of the time. Paraphrasers like QuillBot land in the low 40s. Undetectable AI is doing real work, and it is comfortably in the top tier of the category.

It is also not the same as 95% or 99%. At 85%, roughly one submission in seven still trips a detector. For a marketer publishing fifty blog posts, that is an annoyance you can edit around. For a student submitting six papers a semester through Turnitin, it is a meaningfully different risk calculation. The full methodology and the rest of the field are in our [best AI humanizer for academic papers](/blog/best-ai-humanizer-for-academic-papers) breakdown.

Performance also degrades with length. Short passages of 300 to 500 words tested noticeably better than 2,000-word-plus documents, which matches the sentence-level rewriting pattern we described above. If you are processing something long, run it in sections rather than one pass.

### The Free Trial Ceiling

The free trial gives you approximately 250 words total — not per day, not per document. Total. In our free-tool testing, output at that tier cleared detection about 68% of the time, well below the paid engine's performance.

250 words is one paragraph of an essay. It is enough to confirm the interface loads and not much else, which is a shame for a product that otherwise tests reasonably well. For comparison, our [free humanizer](/free-humanizer) gives you 300 words with no account and no card, and we cover the rest of the field in our [free AI humanizer tools](/blog/free-ai-humanizer-tools-2026) roundup.

## Where It Struggles

**Citations.** This is the finding that surprised us most. In our academic testing, Undetectable AI preserved only 61% of citations intact, with minor alterations in another 22% and major breakage in 17%. It scored 5.8 out of 10 on citation integrity. In a paper with 25 references, you should expect to hand-repair four of them. Always check your bibliography after humanizing.

**Academic register.** Our evaluator panel — two professors, a peer reviewer, and an academic editor — scored Undetectable AI's scholarly tone at 7.15 out of 10 on average, weakest on humanities writing at 6.8. The output reads like competent writing. It does not consistently read like competent *academic* writing, and the Doctorate readability setting does not fully close that gap.

**Non-English content.** Undetectable AI advertises 50-plus languages, but support is uneven. Our testing put it at 72% bypass in Spanish, 65% in French, 58% in German, 45% in Chinese, and 41% in Arabic. Native-speaker evaluators rated German and Arabic grammar below 3.5 out of 5, which means visible errors. If you write in anything other than English, Spanish, or French, test carefully before committing. We score this part of the product 2 out of 5 — the weakest thing about it, and the widest gap between what the marketing claims and what we measured. Our [non-English humanizer testing](/blog/ai-humanizer-for-non-english-content) has the full language-by-language data.

**Expiring credits.** Unused words do not roll over. Buy 50,000 words, use 12,000, and the other 38,000 evaporate at the end of the billing cycle. Size your plan to your real usage, not your optimistic usage.

## Undetectable AI Pricing in 2026

Undetectable AI has repositioned its pricing ladder more than once, so here is what we saw on their pricing page in July 2026:

| Words per month | Monthly | Annual (per month) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 10,000 | $9.99 | $5.00 |
| 20,000 | $19.00 | $9.50 |
| 35,000 | $31.00 | $15.75 |
| 50,000 | $42.50 | $21.25 |

The right-hand column is the effective per-month cost on a yearly commitment: annual billing roughly halves each tier, so read those figures as approximate rather than to the cent. Business plans with bulk, non-expiring credits and white-labeling are quoted individually. All tiers include the humanizer, unlimited AI detection scans, unlimited Human Typer use, writing-level matching, and API access — a genuinely generous feature spread with no artificial tier-gating.

The pricing story is really two stories. **Annual is a strong deal.** At $5 a month for 10,000 words, Undetectable AI is one of the cheapest options in the category, and the full feature suite at that price is hard to argue with. **Monthly is not.** At $9.99 for 10,000 words, you are paying roughly $1.00 per thousand words. SupWriter's $9.99 tier includes 30,000 words, which works out to $0.33 per thousand — about a third of the cost, with a higher bypass rate. We put every major tool through the same math in our [AI humanizer pricing comparison](/blog/ai-humanizer-pricing-comparison-2026).

So the honest read: if you are confident enough to commit for a year, the annual pricing is competitive with anything on the market. If you want to pay month to month, you are paying a significant premium for the brand.

## Pros and Cons

**What we liked**

- Around 85% bypass — genuinely top-tier, and consistent across two separate studies
- The widest feature suite in the category, with no tier-gating
- Sentence-level detection highlighting makes editing decisions obvious
- Human Typer solves a real revision-history problem competitors ignore
- Clean, fast interface with no dark patterns in the signup or cancellation flow
- Annual pricing is legitimately good value
- API access included on every paid tier

**What we didn't**

- 250-word free trial is too small to evaluate anything
- Citation preservation at 61% is a real problem for academic users
- Academic tone scores 7.15 out of 10 — readable, not scholarly
- Performance drops on documents over roughly 2,000 words
- Non-English support falls off sharply past Spanish and French
- Credits expire monthly with no rollover
- Monthly pricing is roughly 3x the per-word cost of the best-value competitors

## Who It's For

**Good fit:** Content marketers and SEO teams who want humanizing, drafting, and detection in one subscription. Freelancers with variable, mostly-English workloads. Anyone who values a mature, well-supported product over squeezing out the last few points of bypass rate. Users who will commit to annual billing.

**Poor fit:** Students submitting through Turnitin, where the 85% ceiling and the citation breakage both matter. Anyone writing primarily in German, Arabic, or Chinese. High-volume users paying monthly. People who want to properly test a tool before paying, given the 250-word trial.

## Alternatives Worth Considering

**[SupWriter](/undetectable-ai-alternative)** — our own tool, and the closest direct comparison. It tests at 99%-plus bypass across five detectors versus Undetectable AI's roughly 85%, preserves 94% of citations versus 61%, and gives you 30,000 words at $9.99 per month versus 10,000. It also supports 100-plus languages with genuinely language-aware processing. What Undetectable AI has that we do not is breadth — no essay writer, no image detector, no job applier. If you want a suite, they win. If you want the humanizer to be as good as possible, we would point you at ours.

**Humbot** — 81.3% average bypass in our academic study, just behind Undetectable AI, with somewhat better citation handling. Worth a look if you find the Undetectable AI interface cluttered, though it has no free tier at all.

**HIX Bypass** — 79% average bypass, part of a similarly broad AI writing suite. Reasonable if you are already in the HIX ecosystem, but it does not beat Undetectable AI on anything meaningful.

**QuillBot** — named only to rule out. An excellent paraphraser and a poor humanizer at 42% bypass, as we covered in our [QuillBot review](/blog/quillbot-review-2026).

The wider field is ranked in our [best AI humanizer tools](/blog/best-ai-humanizer-tools) guide.

## Final Verdict: 3.5 / 5

Undetectable AI is a good product that has been the default answer for so long that people have stopped asking whether it is the best one.

The engineering is solid, the bypass rate is real, the feature suite is unmatched, and the company does not play billing games — a low bar in this category that plenty of competitors still fail to clear. On annual billing it is well priced.

But the numbers have a ceiling. Roughly 85% bypass means one in seven pieces still gets flagged. Citation preservation at 61% makes it risky for academic work. Non-English performance drops off faster than the 50-plus languages marketing suggests. And on monthly billing you pay about three times the per-word rate of the best-value options, largely for a name.

If you want the most complete AI writing toolkit with competent humanization attached, buy the annual plan and you will be happy. If humanization is the whole job — especially for coursework, dissertations, or anything going through Turnitin — the 85% number is the one to sit with before you subscribe.
