Humanize AI text inside Claude

Claude writes great first drafts and humanizes none of them. Add SupWriter as a custom connector and Claude can humanize, paraphrase, grammar-check, and run AI detection right inside your conversation — no copy-paste, no extra tabs. Works the same in Claude on the web and the desktop app.

How to connect

Connect Claude with a one-time OAuth sign-in — calls use your existing plan credits.

    Open Settings

    Click your profile avatar in the bottom-left corner of Claude and choose Settings.

    Go to Connectors → Customize

    In the Settings sidebar, open Connectors, then click the Customize link — connectors now live there.

    Add a custom connector

    On the Connectors page, click the + button in the top-right and choose Add custom connector.

    Enter the SupWriter URL

    Name it "SupWriter", paste https://supwriter.com/api/mcp, and click Add. Leave the optional OAuth client ID/secret blank — SupWriter registers Claude automatically.

    Connect & sign in

    Open the new SupWriter connector, click Connect, then sign in to SupWriter and click Allow access on the consent screen.

    You're connected — test it

    SupWriter now appears under your connectors with all four tools. Test it by asking Claude: "Humanize this so it reads naturally: <paste your AI text>".

Test it

Once connected, ask Claude to use a tool. A few prompts that work well:

  • “Humanize this so it reads naturally: <your text>”
  • “Paraphrase this in a casual tone: <your text>”
  • “Grammar-check and fix this paragraph: <your text>”
  • “Run an AI-detection check on the text above and tell me which sentences look AI-written.”

FAQ

Which Claude plans support custom connectors?

Custom remote connectors work on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise (the Free plan is limited to one). On Team and Enterprise, an organization owner has to add the connector at the org level first, then each member connects their own account.

Does connecting cost anything extra?

No separate MCP fee — calls draw on the word credits already in your SupWriter plan (one credit per word). AI detection is metered over MCP too (one credit per word analyzed), the same as the REST API; it's free only inside the web app.

Is my account safe?

Yes. You authorize either through SupWriter's own OAuth sign-in — approving a consent screen that lists exactly what the client can do — or with a scoped API key. OAuth tokens are short-lived, and keys can be rotated or revoked any time from Settings → API & MCP.

Which tools become available?

Four: humanize, paraphrase, grammar-check, and AI detection — the same engines that power the SupWriter editor.
