A tool that rewrites AI-generated text so it reads like a person wrote it, targeting the statistical patterns detectors measure (perplexity, burstiness, uniform sentence length). AI Paraphraser

A tool that rewrites text using different words while preserving the original meaning. Paraphrasers like QuillBot were built to restate source material. A paraphrase can still read mechanically, because swapping words does not by itself produce a draft in your own voice.

Burstiness

A measure of variation in sentence length and structure within a piece of text. Human writing tends to have high burstiness, mixing short punchy sentences with longer complex ones. AI-generated text typically has low burstiness, producing sentences of similar length and structure throughout. AI detectors use burstiness as a key signal.

Humanization

The process of rewriting an AI-assisted draft so it reads naturally in the writer's own voice. Effective humanization goes beyond synonym replacement: it varies sentence structure and rhythm while keeping the original meaning. It is not a promise about how any particular detector will score the text.

LLM (Large Language Model)

A type of artificial intelligence model trained on massive datasets of text to generate human-like language. Examples include GPT-4, Claude, Gemini, and DeepSeek. LLMs predict the most likely next token in a sequence, which creates the predictable statistical patterns that AI detectors exploit.

Machine Learning

NLP (Natural Language Processing)

Perplexity

A statistical measure of how surprising or unpredictable a piece of text is. Human writing tends to have higher perplexity because humans make unexpected word choices. AI text has lower perplexity because language models choose the most probable next word. Perplexity is the primary metric most AI detectors analyze.

Plagiarism Detection

The process of comparing text against a database of existing content to identify copying or insufficient paraphrasing. Sentence Structure

The way words, phrases, and clauses are arranged to form sentences. AI-generated text tends to use similar sentence structures repeatedly, while human writing naturally varies between simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences. This uniformity is a key signal that AI detectors flag.

Token

The basic unit of text that AI language models process. A token can be a word, part of a word, or a punctuation mark. For example, the word 'undetectable' might be split into the tokens 'un', 'detect', and 'able'. LLMs generate text by predicting the most likely next token in sequence.
