Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 23, 2026
Overview
SupWriter operates an AI humanizer service and is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, protect, and share your information when you use our website and mobile apps.
This policy explains our practices. Where permission is required, we ask separately before processing; reading this policy or creating an account does not grant permission for AI sharing.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password.
- Content: We collect the text and content you submit for humanizing, paraphrasing, grammar correction, AI detection, generation or refinement. This includes text you type, paste, import from a document or enter through dictation, your instructions and writing settings, and optional writing sample titles, sample text and personal writing-style profiles.
- Communications: When you contact our support team, we collect the information you provide in your messages.
- Payment Information: When you make a purchase, our payment processors collect your billing information. We do not store your complete credit card details.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: We collect information about the device and browser you use to access SupWriter, including IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
- Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with our service, including features used, pages accessed, time spent on the platform, and interaction patterns.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and, where you have consented, measure product usage and marketing performance. See the full list below.
Cookies We Use
The table below lists every cookie SupWriter sets, which company sets it, what it is for, and how long it lasts.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token | Supabase | Keeps you signed in. The site cannot work without it. | Session / refresh cycle | Strictly necessary |
sw_consent | SupWriter | Remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask again. | 180 days | Strictly necessary |
ft_attr | SupWriter | Remembers which page, campaign, or referrer first brought you to the site so a later signup can be credited to it. Stored only in our own database. | 90 days | Functional |
referral_code | SupWriter | Holds the code from a referral link you followed so the person who referred you gets credit when you sign up. | 30 days | Functional |
ph_*_posthog | PostHog | Product analytics and session replay — how features get used. | 1 year | Analytics (consent) |
_gcl_au | Measures which ads led to a signup; supports remarketing. | 90 days | Marketing (consent) |
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any analytics or marketing cookie is set. Nothing non-essential runs until you opt in.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of this site.
We also use Vercel Analytics to measure aggregate site traffic. It sets no cookies and cannot identify you individually.
AI processing and your permission
When you request an AI result, SupWriter sends the content needed for that request from our servers to the following services. Your text may contain personal information you choose to include.
- AI humanizing and detection provider: A third-party AI processing service receives submitted text for humanizing and AI detection, and generated or paraphrased text when a humanizing step is used. Humanizing requests include selected language, tone, purpose and writing settings and, when enabled, your saved writing-style profile.
- Google: Receives text, editing instructions, language and mode settings for grammar correction, paraphrasing, generation and refinement. If you choose personal writing-style analysis, Google receives the titles and contents of the samples you submit to create your style profile.
- Vercel AI Gateway: Routes Google AI requests and therefore processes the same request content and responses. Our production gateway routes are restricted to Google-operated providers, with zero-data-retention and no-prompt-training routing controls enabled.
We do not add your SupWriter account email, password or payment details to these AI requests. Information of that kind is still shared if you include it in the text or samples you submit. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.
Before the first AI request in the mobile app, we explain the data shared and third-party AI processing and ask you to choose Allow and continue or Not now. Declining sends no AI request. Opening the privacy policy does not grant permission. You can still use non-AI features such as reading your saved history and managing your account. Permission is stored for your account on that device. We ask again when the disclosure changes or permission is withdrawn.
In Account, choose Withdraw AI permission to stop future AI requests on that device until you opt in again. This cannot recall requests already sent and does not delete saved history. Use Account → Delete account to remove your account and associated writing history, samples and style profile. Clearing writing DNA in writing settings removes the active profile but retains your saved samples. Contact us for help with a specific content deletion request.
Protection and retention
We require service providers receiving your information to provide the same or equal protection described in this policy: secure processing, access limited to service delivery and security, protection against unauthorized disclosure, and retention limited to the purposes of processing and applicable legal obligations. AI requests use encrypted HTTPS connections. Our Google gateway requests are restricted to routes covered by Vercel’s zero-data-retention and no-prompt-training controls; they fail if an eligible route is unavailable.
The AI humanizing and detection provider’s published privacy policy states that user data is not used to train AI models and describes secure storage, deletion rights and retention only as necessary for the stated purposes or legal requirements. We do not claim that all content sent to this provider is immediately deleted. Provider processing is distinct from the input text and results we save in your SupWriter history, and the samples and style profile we save for your account until deleted.
Additional provider information: Google AI data terms, Vercel AI Gateway data protection. Contact support@supwriter.com for questions or assistance with a data deletion request involving a provider.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, though some information may be retained in backups for a limited period.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date at the top. We will notify you of any material changes via email or through a prominent notice on our service.
